Biography:

Dr Tristan Shelley is a specialist in advanced composites manufacturing and a senior leader at UniSQ’s Centre for Future Materials (CFM). His work focuses on industry‑driven R&D for the Aerospace, Space, and Defence sectors. He has expertise in advanced composite processing, accelerated manufacturing methods, and the bonding and joining of aerospace structures. His technical background spans numerical modelling, structural design, optimisation, and a range of composite manufacturing techniques. At CFM, he leads research in Digital & AI and automated composite manufacturing, including filament winding, Automated Fibre Placement, and braiding. Since 2026, he has also served as a Research Program Lead within the Australian Composites Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre.
