Thomas BLOOMFIELD
Biography:
Since launching co-founding Fyous in 2020, Thomas has raised millions of pounds through investment and grant funding, enabling Fyous to establish its own factory, build a high-performing team, and scale a growing manufacturing business. With a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thomas combines a strong technical foundation with a clear preference for the commercial, operational, financial, and people-driven side of leadership. Thomas is a Freeman of The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, where he actively supports and promotes manufacturing businesses across the Sheffield region. He is also deeply involved in the start-up, student, and early-stage business community, regularly mentoring and encouraging others to push their ventures to their full potential. Sustainability is central to his values, reflected in his commitment to cycling to work, reducing flights and prioritising train travel as a lower-impact alternative.
About Fyous:
Fyous is the inventor of PolyMorphic Moulding – a reconfigurable moulding system built from thousands of digitally controlled pins. Unlike traditional tooling, Fyous machines shape-shift in minutes to form complex geometries for composite layup, compression moulding, thermoforming, workholding and more. Moulds are stored digitally and recalled on demand, enabling agile production without the cost, waste or delay of fixed tooling. With one tool, manufacturers can form millions of shapes. Fyous delivers the missing link between design freedom and manufacturing flexibility in advanced materials.
