With over 30 years’ experience in the advanced materials sector developing materials, manufacturing processes and components to optimise performance, Stephen has a deep understanding of the challenges which can be addressed with the disruptive technologies, critical for reducing emissions and waste for a Net Zero future. TISICS technologies deliver reduced waste through net shape manufacturing and light weight components to address an aerospace market of over £2 billion by 2035. TISICS has established close partnerships with leading UK and international industry, government and academic partners.

About TISICS:

TISICS is developing world leading metal matrix composites utilising high performance alumina and silicon carbide fibres to reinforce aluminium and titanium alloys. These composites provide twice the specific strength and stiffness of conventional aerospace alloys. The performance advantages in compression, fatigue, creep and thermal expansion can be exploited delivering 50% lighter metallic parts. TISICS has a strong track record of working with customers, suppliers and academia to accelerate the development of the technology for industrialisation and high performance full scale component manufacture. By integrating the fibre manufacture, composite process design and component manufacture, TISICS has been able to develop optimised processes considering performance, economics and future production partnerships to meet future customer needs and critical regulatory approvals for flight use.
