Spencer DANSEREAU - MACH ELECTRIC

Spencer DANSEREAU

CEO, MACH ELECTRIC
United States

Biography:

Spencer Dansereau is the Technical Lead and CEO of Mach Electric, where he drives research and technical development of sustainable, high-performance composite materials for aerospace, automotive, and energy systems. His team focuses on CO₂-derived carbon fiber, integrating materials science with robotics to convert industrial waste gas into high-value structural materials. His academic background centers on ceramic matrix composites and robotics. He holds a PhD and completed a postdoctoral appointment in Aerospace Engineering Structures at the University of Colorado Boulder, with research spanning composite design and fabrication, ablation physics, failure mechanics, and advanced imaging and characterization for extreme-environment applications.

About Mach Electric:

Mach Electric produces structural carbon fiber from waste gas CO₂. By eliminating the need for the polymeric precursor Polyacrylonitrile (PAN), Mach Electric is able to significantly reduce carbon fiber production costs and improve scalability, as its process uses ~5x less energy with ~30% less cost in feedstock, all while being carbon negative. As a recent University of Colorado spinout, Mach Electric has delivered carbon fiber products via our patented modular production system.
