Shabab Saad is an experienced innovator in the field of materials science and engineering. With almost 10+ years of experience in developing advanced materials such as carbon fibers, optical fibers, biocomposites, nano/smart materials, and carbon fiber composites, Shabab holds the accolade of publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles in reputed journals. He is a graduate of various world-renowned accelerator programs such as Creative Destruction Lab, Plug & Play, Rice Alliance CEA program, etc. which speaks to the strength of his extraordinary leadership and business skills. So far, under the leadership of Shabab, CarboMat has secured almost $4.2 million of non-dilutive grant funding, has locked in almost 10+ potential customers, and allowed the team to grow by 5X within a short time-span of only 2 years. Lastly, Shabab is also the winner of GRInSTEM Fellowship Award 2022 which led to the incorporation of CarboMat.

About CarboMat:

CarboMat is a growing clean tech startup working towards commercialization of their low-cost sustainable carbon fiber technology for advanced lightweight energy-efficient composite applications. CarboMat utilizes a low-value waste by-product to produce their low-cost sustainable carbon fibers which allows them to reduce the production cost by 60% and the associated carbon footprint by 50%. Currently, CarboMat is building its first-of-its-kind pilot facility for large-scale customer trials before an early market entry.
