Biography:

Dr Sathiskumar Anusuya Ponnusami is an Associate Professor and the Programme Director of Aerospace Engineering at City, University of London, UK. He conducted his PhD and post-doc at TU Delft and Oxford, respectively. He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), UK, and the UK’s Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His team develops AI-driven modelling tools for mechanics problems including structural control, failure predictions, health monitoring and composite materials design. His research outputs include 40 journal articles, 30 international conferences, 7 book chapters and 2 patents. He is an Associate Editor of the Mechanics of Materials journal (Elsevier). His recognitions include the Airbus Fly Your Ideas winner, the NLF Dutch Aerospace Award, and the Alan Turing Institute’s UK-Italy AI Exchange Research Award. His research is supported by funding from the Royal Society, UKRI-EPSRC, British Council, and industry.
