Biography:

Mr. Norimitsu Natsume has been a member of Technology Committee in JCMA since 2020 and served as chairman of Technology Committee in 2023. The Technology Committee is in charge of general technology matters related to carbon fibers, including standardization, LCI data calculations, REACH complaint and organization of technical seminars. Mr. Natsume also belongs to Toray Industries Inc. and is General Manager of Aerospace, ACM Technology Dept. which leads projects for new business & material development, global collaborations and customer support. He has been working in Toray for more than 25 years, staring with his career as a research engineer for material development of composites. His experience in Toray also includes management of technical centers in United States and France.

About The Japan Carbon Fiber Manufacturers Association (JCMA):

The Japan Carbon Fiber Manufacturers Association (JCMA), currently a committee in Japan Chemical Fibers Association (JCFA), was established in 1978 as the Japan Carbon Fiber Conference with the aim of contributing to the development of the carbon fiber industry in Japan. After that, the organization was renamed JCMA in 1988 and merged into JCFA in 2014. JCMA continues its activities as a committee of JCFA, working with the industry as a whole to address issues that cannot be addressed by one company alone, and actively supporting the healthy and sustainable growth of the carbon fiber industry. As of December 2023, it comprises six member companies: Toray, Teijin, Mitsubishi Chemical, Kureha, Osaka Gas Chemical, and Nippon Graphite Fiber.
