Biography:
Negar Aghigh is a Ph.D. student at Polytechnique Montréal, Canada, and a researcher at the Laboratory of Multi-scale Mechanics (LM2) supervised by Professor Daniel Therriault. With a background in manufacturing and automation, Negar specializes in additive manufacturing, focusing on innovative solutions that push the field's boundaries. Her research is centered on multi-material fused filament fabrication and developing multifunctional composites with advanced properties such as electrical conductivity and self-healing. Moreover, she works on recycling thermoplastic polymers and composites for reuse in additive manufacturing and expanding sustainability in the field. Passionate about innovation and technological advancement, Negar is eager to collaborate with fellow researchers and industry experts to drive meaningful progress in additive manufacturing. The Laboratory for Multiscale Mechanics (LM2) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal, Canada, is a cutting-edge research facility dedicated to advancing the field of mechanics through innovative research and collaboration. Our team is composed of five distinguished professors with complementary expertise, specializing in areas such as slender structure mechanics (Frédérick Gosselin), multiscale mechanics (Martin Lévesque), additive manufacturing (Daniel Therriault), smart origami/kirigami structures (David Melancon), and additive manufacturing of smart composites (Sampada Bodkhe). The LM2 team comprises around 50 permanent members, including PhD and master’s students, technicians, research associates, postdoctoral fellows, and professors from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
