Markus SAUSE
Biography:
Prof. Dr. Markus Sause is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Augsburg and serves as the Director of the AI Production Network Augsburg. His research focuses on the failure behavior of fiber-reinforced materials, failure mechanisms in composites, process technology for fiber-reinforced materials, machine learning, and condition monitoring systems. He specializes in Structural Health Monitoring, FEM simulation and modeling of test methods, and acoustic emission analysis across all material classes (metals, ceramics, polymers, graphite, wood, and composites). His work also involves the application of computed tomography and the in situ combination of material testing methods, data fusion, and automated testing technology. With over 15 years of research expertise, he collaborates internationally on research projects. Prof. Sause has authored over 160 scientific publications.
About the AI PRODUCTION NETWORK:
The AI Production Network is an initiative aimed at advancing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial production. It typically consists of a collaboration among companies, research institutes, and other industry stakeholders who work together to develop and implement AI technologies in manufacturing processes. The goal of the network is to improve efficiency, flexibility, and quality in production through the application of AI.
