Biography:

Former commercial director at Persico Marine,an advanced composite racing yacht and aerospace manufacturer. Involved in the foiling industry for nearly 20 years, has managed in the last seven years as President the International Moth Class, the world most success full foiling class, now as Vice President. Has now taken the role of Class Manager for the AC40 Class used in the America's Cup, with the ambitious mission of developing the first ever circuit. Founded Foiling Week in 2013, the first community based event to be recognized by World Sailing as Special Event, a category representing the eight sailing pinnacle events. We Are Foiling: Luca has developed a whole foiling integrated ecosystem, with further globally recognized initiatives such as the Sumoth Challenge, the Foiling Awards, the Foiling Youth World Series, the Foiling Film Festival, where the common thread is a strong drive for education, sustainability, equity and inclusion. Luca sits as a trustee with the Magenta Project, a global charity dedicated to the advancement of women’s high performance sailing. Founder and President of the Foiling Organization, the global foiling industry and professionals association. In this role has developed the new Foiling Technology Pavillon at METS Trade, world largest marine B2B exhibition and launched the Headquarters in Genoa.

OVERVIEW THE FOILING ORGANIZATION is the professional association for the world of foiling: Boat Yards, Component Manufacturers, Designers, Universities and ResearchFacilities, Sailors, Sailing Schools and MNAs, Events and Institutions GOALS 1 FOILING ASSOCIATION facilitates and promotes foiling for racing, cruising and commercial shipping worldwide and brings together all parties in the development of a foiling sector to shape industry and government attitudes and policies. 2 NETWORK create a clear sectoral approach, grouping like-minded organizations and individuals that can share ideas, skills, technical and market information, resources for the development of racing, cruising and commercial foiling 3 PROMOTE promoting the economic value of foiling to the industry through the media and organizing events. 4 INCUBATE assist in securing funding streams, project collaboration, grant applications, research and the pooling of resources. 5 EDUCATE act as a central information hub for the foiling sector, the media, NGO’s, equipment producers, shipbuilders, ports, government and the general public. Research papers, press releases and project information. 6 FACILITATE initiating the establishment of common approaches and criteria for all stages of foiling projects, advise stakeholders and lobby legislative bodies on policies, activities, funding and incentives required to retrofit, upgrade and the new build of racing, cruising and commercial foiling.
