Biography: 

I specialized in mechanical engineering and graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1987 and got a doctorate from the same University in 1992 in the field of fracture mechanics. I worked for a national research institute (AIST, METI, Japan) from 1992 to 2000 in the field of composite materials. Then, I worked for national programs concerning composite materials, such as standardization of testing methods, ultra-high temperature application, structural health monitoring, recycling of thermoplastic composites, and LCA (life cycle assessment). Since 2000 I'm working for the University of Tokyo and have been doing research about transportation and renewable energy application of CFRP and CFRTP.
