About The Institute of Polymer Engineering (IKT) :
The Institute of Polymer Engineering (IKT) is part of FHNW and is focussed on sustainable, plastic-based product and process development in a holistic approach. IKT’s expertise in the fields of chemistry and analytics, process engineering and structural mechanics blends with the surface structuring and functionalisation expertise of the neighbouring Institute of Polymer Nanotechnology (FHNW - INKA). On the composite topic, the IKT has been involved in a variety of projects related to processing of polymers and fibres and offers extensive knowledge in industrial manufacturing technologies for advanced composites. This covers various aspects, such as modelling, tooling, joining, recycling and materials sciences of thermoset and thermoplastic based composites.
