Jonathan TAYLOR

Senior Chief Engineer, National Composites Centre UK
United Kingdom

Biography :

Jon Taylor is current Senior Chief Engineer for Net Zero at the UK’s National Composites Centre, with technical accountability for the centre’s civilian programmes across aerospace, energy, services and digital portfolios. His background is primarily aerospace. After graduating in Materials Science from the University of Oxford in 2006, he joined Rolls-Royce. Over the next 16 years, he undertook roles in materials, design, stress analysis and engineering management, always with a focus on the “cold end” of the civil engine portfolio. In some way, he was involved with the development of the composite fan system for 15 of those 16 years, from its earliest inceptions up to UltraFan™ engine testing. He is a proud pragmatist and engineer, and has tried hard to retain his enthusiasm for technology and making things work throughout his career.
