Joao BESSA
Biography:
João Bessa is a Chemical Engineer Master, since 2012, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), a reference educational institution at a national and international level, with a specialization in Processes and Product. Actually, he is PhD Student in Materials Engineering in University of Minho. Currently, he is a R&D+i Manager at the Fibrenamics Institute form University of Minho, where he has gained experience and expertise in the innovation and development of fiber based materials and composites, and where currently have responsibilities in Project and Team Management.
About Fibrenamics:
Fibrenamics is an innovation institute, which acts in the generation and knowledge transfer in the field of fibrous and composite materials. Founded in 2011 as a brand, it quickly stood out for its ability to disseminate and explore the potential of these materials in various high-value-added sectors. As such, in 2018, it was consolidated as a Private Non-Profit Association, created by the University of Minho and the Municipality of Guimarães. It was recognized by the National Innovation Agency (ANI) as a national Technology and Innovation Centers in the field of advanced materials and nanotechnology, and distinguished by its ability to produce, disseminate, and transfer knowledge aimed at economic value creation. International recognition soon followed as the European Commission highlighted Fibrenamics as a success case, underscoring the excellence of its innovation model and its contribution to economic and social development.
