François MELOCCO

Chief Software Officer, CORIOLIS
France

Biography:

Francois Melocco leads the software department at Coriolis Composites. He graduated from the University of Manchester (UMIST) with an MSc in thermal power and fluids engineering. After many years working at Dassault Systèmes mostly with leading roles for CATIA Composites R&D, he brings his experience, since 2017, to define the strategy, drive the development and promote the software solutions developed by Coriolis: CADFiber and CATFiber are machine-independent offline programming solutions for automated manufacturing, Simureal is a program validation solution with maximum accuracy to avoid dry-runs, and CoDa is the solution for data collection during machine operation. CATFiber is embedded in CATIA/DELMIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE, result of the close partnership between Dassault Systèmes and Coriolis. The new version of CATFiber brings the integration to a level that allows customers to rethink their approach to composites design by taking automated manufacturing constraints into account at early stages of design.

About Corriolis:

Coriolis Composites develops and delivers innovative and industry proven machines and software solutions to automate the production of composite structures. Its robot-based Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) technology is qualified by major aerospace OEMs for industrial products. Thanks to continuous improvements of the technology Coriolis has become, over the years, the reference in AFP. Coriolis has expanded its technology portfolio by acquiring MFTech, one of the world leaders in Filament Winding (FW) robotic machines. Now, Coriolis continues to invest on its core technologies and on future technologies to contribute to making aerospace, automotive, naval and others industries more sustainable.
