Benoît COSSON
Biography:
Benoît Cosson is a Professor at the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT/UTTOP) since February 2024, following nearly 15 years as an Associate Professor at IMT Nord Europe. His research focuses on the modeling, simulation, and experimental validation of material forming processes, with a particular interest in thermoplastic composites. He has developed expertise in areas such as probabilistic modeling of manufacturing uncertainties, laser and infrared welding of thermoplastic composites, and thermomechanical modeling of plastics processing techniques, including rotational molding and 3D printing. He holds a habilitation to supervise research (HDR) obtained in 2023 from the University of Lille and a Ph.D. in mechanics from the University Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. In addition to his research, he teaches subjects such as strength of materials, reliability, and homogenization, while supervising doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
