Biography:

Aline is a sector specialist focusing on advanced materials and sustainability. Within her sector she is involved in all phases of the investment process: sourcing, evaluating, selecting and supporting innovative startups from early due diligence to exit. Prior to joining Emerald in 2023, Aline held various positions in different industries. At Sensirion, she coordinated the development of a sensing layer for a gas sensor. For one year she worked for Shimadzu in Japan, and most recently Aline was responsible for innovation in the evaluation of new sustainable building materials at Sika. Aline has a PhD in chemistry from ETH Zurich (Swiss federal Institute of Technology Zurich) and an MBA from ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences).
