Andrew Maxey is CEO of Vartega (Denver, CO) - a carbon fiber recycler solving the world's toughest advanced materials recycling challenges. Andrew co-founded Vartega in 2014 with the desire to connect a captive supply of high-value carbon fiber in the waste stream to an unmet demand for low-cost carbon fiber downstream. Prior to Vartega, he was VP of Engineering at CO2Nexus, another clean technology start-up in Colorado. Andrew's initial interest in carbon fiber composites came from his love of all things that go fast including bikes and skis. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
