JEC Composites Magazine n°168: an overview of the latest trends in the composites market

2026-05-08T10:58:44

Despite global uncertainty, the composites industry is not merely holding its own; it is evolving. JEC Composites Magazine n°168 presents trends by country (especially European countries, the United States, China and India) and by sector (notably aerospace, automotive, defence, energy and construction).

Among all these trends, we can identify two main areas: on the one hand, the issue of sustainability and, on the other, issues relating to performance, industrialisation and new technologies. From natural fibres to end-of-life solutions, sustainability is ever-present. Industrial-scale recycling, bio-based resins… Sustainability can no longer be ignored today; it is increasingly being incorporated into regulatory frameworks and, as a result, industry players are striving to integrate it directly into composite manufacturing processes. As for industrialisation, it relies in particular on the scalability of technologies, but also on automation, digitalisation, artificial intelligence and data-driven processes. The issue of performance, particularly the high performance of composite materials, is also becoming increasingly important.

Alongside the launch of the magazine, the digital version of the full Innovation Report has been published. This offers an opportunity to discover the innovations presented and exhibited at JEC World 2026 across all categories, from raw materials to applications, not to mention equipment, production technologies and testing systems.
