The event brought together a diverse range of Indian SMEs and large industrial groups to demonstrate the nation’s end-to-end capabilities in the composites value chain. There were exhibitors who were attending for the umpteenth time while for a few it was their first show and a beginning!  

"Make in India"

At JEC World 2026 in Paris, the Indian Pavilion stood as a testament to the country's rapid transformation to a high-tech global powerhouse in advanced materials. This year, the Indian delegation showcased a sophisticated blend of aerospace-grade precision, sustainable “circular” innovations and homegrown manufacturing technologies that are redefining the “Make in India” initiative. The theme for the Indian pavilion revolved around indigenisation and global integration, emphasising India’s growing capacity in advanced aerospace and sustainable chemistry. Indian companies stuck to the core theme of JEC World 2026 and showcased their innovations ranging from UAV parts to recyclable resins.

The pavilion showcased a wide array of Indian companies, including newcomers making their debut at JEC World. India’s presence at the exhibition was marked by several prominent players and sessions. Notable themes that emerged during the event included innovations in aerospace and defence, as well as sustainability in composites. The overarching themes encompassed, but were not limited to, the following:

• Indigenisation: transitioning from basic component manufacturing to the production of complex, flight-critical structural assemblies.
• Cost-efficiency: emphasising India's capability to deliver products that meet expectations regarding quantity, timeliness and value.
• Sustainable solutions: a commitment to align with the growing demand for solutions that reduce carbon footprints.

Innovation in aerospace and defence

Indian companies leveraged the “Make in India” push to showcase high-end structural capabilities. Rockman Advanced Composites (RAC) stole the show with a technical presentation by Mr Ian Thompson, Technical Director, and their CEO Mr Amit Vijay on a P-51 Mustang replica. RAC successfully converted multiple aluminium parts into advanced composites, showcasing their ability to handle complex “metal- to-composite” transitions for modern aircraft and UAVs.
