FOREST – Sustainable Light-Weighting of Hybrid Pultrudates

As part of the EU-funded FOREST project, we developed thermoplastic pultruded laminates from bio-based PA6 reinforced with hybrid carbon fibres. Combining unidirectional continuous fibres with recycled carbon fibre mats enhances multidirectional strength, interlaminar toughness, and impact resistance without compromising axial performance. This sustainable pultrusion process produces lightweight, high-performance laminates with strong potential for structural transportation applications.
