High-added Value Recycling, Reprocessing and Re-use of Composite Materials within New Products
10 Mar 2026
Open Stage
This presentation discusses the DeremCo approach to recycling fiber-reinforced composites (FRPs) with a demand-driven, specification-compliant, circular economy vision. It highlights innovative, sustainable methods for recycling, reprocessing and reusing these materials in new added-value applications. Various investment cases part of the 30 DeremCo applications are discussed, opening the demand for post-use FRP recyclate introduction into new products.
Key Takeaways:
- Examples of mature industrial business cases integrating recycled GFRP from wind blades
- The importance of the demand-driven circular economy approach in the recycling of composites from wind blades
- Technical implications of recycling and reprocessing stages of the circular process-chain
- Pilot Demonstrations: Exploration of real-world case studies, such as using recycled glass fibers in automotive parts, 3D printing applications, and sustainable construction materials
- The YouRban project mobile plant for remote recycling and reprocessing of GFRP industrial scrap
- Next steps and opportunities for the composite-rich manufacturing industry.
