Using Open Source Software for Industrial Applications

Open-source software can often be seen as limited to research applications. This notion is being challenged by several open-source solutions which are at par with the industry. The increasing use of the open-source tools can mean a cost-effective and customizable solution. Tools like OpenFOAM, OpenRadioss can simulate very advanced functionalities at the same time being transparent and collaborative. The talk demonstrates a certain number of case studies of how such tools can be used to tackle real industrial problems in the domain of composites.
