An Industry/Academic Partnership for a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Innovation for Sustainable Composites Engineering

In 2024 the University of Bristol (Bristol Composites Institute) and University of Nottingham were awarded an EPSRC CDT. It is a partnership with industries covering the UK composites sector, with more than 70% of the funding coming from industry partners. The presentation will describe the research that will be carried out, and the new approach to training and skills development we have devised to produce future leaders. The ambition is to train 67 students to doctoral level that are industry ready with the mindset to bring about change to make composites the key enabler in our Net Zero journey.
