FIBRE4YARDS: Defining the shipyard of the future
04 Mar 2025
Open Stage
Most ships with a length below 50m are made of composite materials. The new approach to shipbuilding proposed in FIBRE4YARDS will allow shipyards to be more productive and efficient while reducing their environmental impact and costs.
This session presents:
• Advanced composite production processes developed to facilitate a modular construction of the ship.
• Simulation tools to allow incorporating such improved advanced production processes in the ship design.
• A digital twin of the shipyard aimed to improve quality, logistics and optimize maintenance tasks.
• The results of a cost-benefit analysis, which shows that all technologies proposed by FIBRE4YARDS allow reducing costs while increasing production efficiency.
