Bio-Uptake and Thermofire, 2 Complementary Projects to Overcome Manufacturing and Performance Challenges of Bio-based Composites

Polymeris, as a competitiveness cluster, will mention its activities to network and to involve relevant partners and espacially SMEs in European projects. In both Bio-Uptake and Thermofire projects, Polymeris was able to bring value to the consortium thanks to its large network and industrial members. These projects both focus on biopolymers reinforced by natural fibers and cover multiple sectors (construction, medical, packaging, aerospace, automotive, textile). They however have two different approaches : Manufacturing processes and Digitalisation for Bio-Uptake, and enhanced mechanical properties and bio-based halogen-free fire retardants for Thermofire. Arkema, as a major industrial player, will enrich the session bringing technical aspects on Thermofire project.
