A Dianhydride based Curing Agent for high Performance Epoxy Matrix Resins
05 Mar 2024
Agora 6
Due to their outstanding mechanical properties and durability, epoxy resins play a major role in the field of lightweight construction and composite materials. When highest thermomechanical properties are desired in systems solely based on bisphenol A diglycidyl ether as epoxy component, common curing agents can reach their limitations. BTDA™ (3,3',4,4'-Benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride) will be reintroduced as a powerful latent curative for epoxy resins, enabling very high crosslink densities and therefore leading to outstanding high-temperature mechanical performance (Tg 239 °C) and improved chemical resistance.
