Structural heel for Network Rail FLOW bridge

KS Composites Ltd
Unlike conventional fabricated, metallic solutions, using a composite method of manufacture and its associated tooling, will ensure repeatable, consistent sections can be made.
Although initially developed for Rail applications, since its installation, Network Rail have been approached by Highways and private landowners looking to source similar composite, modular bridge solutions.

Why and Whom

KS Composites was approached by Network Rail who were looking to find a solution for multiple level rail crossing sites.  At that point there was only a steel solution which was heavy, with very expensive access and installation costs. Along with Network Rail and our partners in the project - Knight Architects, SuiGeneris, Q-Railing and Jacobs we were able to design and develop the FLOW bridge.

Key Benefits

Reducing installation time from weeks to days, which resulted in a significant overall cost saving.
The modern flowing and open design of the bridge, which is of modular design and construction makes it adaptable to all locations, environments and applications.
The inclusion of monitoring within the bridge enables usage tracking and remote access to maintenance notifications and actions.
