Recycled C/PPS access panel and fairings
Two complex-shaped fairings were developed and produced from rTPC, which will be flight tested on an experimental European rotocraft.
Why and Whom
The TPAC in the Netherlands developed a low shear recycling process for thermoplastic composite waste, while retaining the highest possible material properties. Within the 'rTPC Demonstrator project' two prototype aircraft parts from rTPC were developed with GKN Aerospace, incl. material characterization (LSP integration, impact damage sensitivity and strength under in-service conditions).
