Fully recyclable wing mirror housing

The fully recyclable wing mirror housing is built out of one continuous carbon fiber, with fiber paths optimized to achieve significant weight reduction while maintaining structural integrity. Using Infinite Fiber Placement (IFP) technology, fibers were precisely placed onto the double-curved 3D geometry to meet specific load cases. The process seamlessly integrated reinforced holes, undercuts, and localized thickness adjustments into the preform design. This advanced manufacturing approach enabled a 20% lighter component that meets the extreme performance demands of Formula 1™ while being fully recyclable.
