Enhancing Cured Laminate Compensation with AI

MAGESTIC TECHNOLOGIES
Cured Laminate Compensation (CLC) is a process where a cured laminate is measured in specific zones to determine if those zones are within a specific engineering tolerance. Using Magestic’s TruPly Comp software, Lockheed Martin performs the CLC process on several skins on the F35 program. AI can enhance this process by analyzing data immediately on entry and extending this to other processes.

Why and Whom

Cured Laminate Compensation can leverage AI to improve processes based on historical manufacturing data, cutting productions costs per serial part created. Thickness trends per zone are analyzed to bring parts within tolerance after the first cure cycle eliminating a costly secondary cure cycle for compensation plies.

Key Benefits

The Cured Laminate Compensation process takes advantage of the precision and customization of composite materials to deliver parts with extremely tailored characteristics like the ideal strength and lightweight structures required for the F-35 program.
