CDuro Epona Mountain Bike
The innovative frames utilise an epoxy-carbon composite with standard and high-modulus carbon fibre. Filament-wound tubes implement zero-degree axial fibre placement with Integrated Loop Technology, ensuring a continuous fibre connection that reduces the manual labour required for production. Components connect through loops integrated into the tube structure, enhancing strength and stability.
Why and Whom
The CDuro Epona bike was created to demonstrate CompoTech's Integrated Loop Technology (ILT) with collaboration in developing and testing the design process for loop connections. An "Enduro" frame with long travel and progressive geometry was designed, inspired by the challenging trails in the local Czech Sumava region. The challenge was to build a competitive, lightweight, yet robust bike.
Key Benefits
Epona's philosophy is simple: a strong, lightweight carbon frame with a single-pivot enduro platform. This is achieved through automated fibre placement technology, ensuring a superior and enjoyable ride. The bike's design provides simplicity and reliability. Its long reach allowed CompoTech to position the main pivot effectively, resulting in a fast and efficient design in enduro competition.
