Fat Albert cargo e-scooter (Tafnex Edition)
Genesis of your product. why and for whom?
Fat Albert is a new form of urban mobility. It is the first e-scooter and has as a central element a visible thermoplastic composite lockable trunk of 70l made with Tafnex. It is space-saving, flexible and sustainable. Also offers a clear added value over the car and brings ease and fun to shopping.
Benefits for the final customers?
Weight plays a key role in the efficiency of an e-vehicle. Using Tafnex (thermoplastic carbon composite) as a visible panel, a 60% weight saving can be achieved in the trunk. The impact strength of Tafnex leads to more stable surfaces, while with sheet metal, edged goods can cause dents in the body.
The product : materials and processes
The Fat Albert e-scooter has a 45 km/h approval. The USP of this new form of mobility is the lockable trunk located between the wheels, with a volume of 70l and a very low center of gravity. The trunk consists of a multilayer structure of thermoplastic UD sheets with two random sheet layers as outer layers (both using Tafnex CF-PP). Lightweight and impact resistance are the main advantages here.
