ecoFoiler recyclable foiling dinghy with ampliTex™ and Elium® resin hull produced in a 3D-printed mould
Genesis of your product. why and for whom?
The recyclable ecoFoiler foiling dinghy was developed by nlcomp to make foiling accessible for everyone. It uses Bcomp''s ampliTex™ reinforcements to replace traditional glass fibres, recyclable Elium® resin to replace traditional thermoset resin and is manufactured in a 3D-printed recyclable mould.
Benefits for the final customers?
Northern Light''s rComposite structure replaces glass fibres with renewable ampliTex™ flax fibres. Also, thanks to a special resin system, the entire hull can be recycled at the end of the foiling dinghy''s life, just as the additively manufactured mould can be recycled and turned into a new one.
The product : materials and processes
The ecoFoiler will allow sailors - beginners to experts - to experience the magic of foiling on a truly sustainable boat. Thanks to Breton SpA''s additive manufacturing technology, the mould can be created in a short time and is fully recyclable at the end of its life. The flax fibre composite solution with ampliTex™ and a thermoplastic resin makes the ecoFoiler the first fully recyclable foiler.
